Raul chases his titles with cold determination

Few of the greats of sport get to choose their moment to step up to their place in history. Raúl is close to doing that.

The Dutch cyclist entered last year's cycling championship to add one more title to become the outright legend among cycling predators. Though his form has been patchy of late, with Raúl you never say never.

Raúl possesses an almost indefinable, near-priceless knack of winning. Sometimes he steals victories out of thin air. Often he preys on defensive errors by drifting unseen and unsuspected onto the finishline. Then, like a piranha, he bites, and as often as not, he bites twice over.
