Snow leopard (2): performance comparison

Al eerder werd op DDODG geschreven over de 'Snow leopard', de indrukwekkende renner uit het hooggebergte van Rijswijk. De naam 'Snow leopard' werd aanvankelijk toegeschreven aan oud-Tourwinnaar M. Sindurain. Diepgaand onderzoek heeft echter uitgewezen dat de snow leopard hoort bij A. Zwienokoerov.
Amerikanen (bekend van hun betrouwbare onderzoek) hebben recent een studie gedaan gedaan naar de prestaties van Snow leopard vergeleken met het net in het peloton verschenen Wingert 7.
Conclusie: bijna op alle terreinen is snow leopard Wingert de baas.

Snow Leopard consistently beats Wingert 7 in many general performance areas. Wingert 7 only managed to outdo Snow Leopard in the dalen performance benchmark in this test.

Testing environment:

The test machine is a 58cm Shimano Ultegra based aluminium workhorse with a 2.5GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB of RAM, and a 512MB Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT video card.
Snow Leopard chose a Trek frameset. Wingert 7 preferred a dutch design "Gazelle".

Both systems were supporting a SATA 3Gbps interface, having 8MB of cache memory, and spinning at 90 bpm.

The tester chose Wingert 7 64-bit as Apple claims Snow Leopard is now a pure 64-bit OS with most of its built-in applications being constructed with 64-bit code.
